Abbott Names New Chief Of Staff

Gov. Greg Abbott is naming a new chief of staff. Robert Black will take over the day-to-day operations of the governor's office on July 22nd, replacing Gardner Pate in the position. Black most recently served as vice president of public affairs for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. His association with the governor goes back to 2022, when he was communications director for Abbott's campaign for attorney general.
