Employees of the Southwest ISD are in for a pay increase. On Wednesday, the Board of Trustees approved a 2% raise for all full-time employees of the district for the upcoming school year. In addition, the district approved a $1,000 retention bonus for all eligible employees. Beginning pay for new teachers is now $61,000, bus drivers start at $19 an hour, and bilingual teachers receive a $3,000 stipend bonus.
