Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is creating a team that will prioritize enforcement of the state's privacy laws. Paxton announced the new data privacy and security initiative on Tuesday. His office says the initiative will make sure companies safeguard Texas residents' personal data and respect their privacy. Paxton says companies will face consequences for the unauthorized collection and sale of personal data, financial harm to consumers, or irresponsible use of A-I. Paxton has sued both Google and Meta in the past.
