Unofficial results show three Texas House Republicans who opposed school vouchers last fall lost their primary runoffs on Tuesday. State Rep. John Kuempel of Seguin came in second to Alan Schoolcraft in District 44. Justin Holland of Rockwall fell to former Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson in District 33. DeWayne Burns of Cleburne lost to Helen Kerwin in District 58. Gov. Greg Abbott is still determined to pass school-choice legislation that was defeated last year, and the new crop of representatives give him the numbers to get it done.
