Data from the U-S Census Bureau says San Antonio is growing faster than Austin. The Alamo City added nearly 22,000 more people than any other American city in 2023. Austin, meanwhile, dropped out of the list of the nation's top-ten most populous cities. The capital city now comes in at 10th, with Houston at number 4, San Antonio in seventh place, and Dallas at number 9. Jacksonville, Florida, moved up from 11th place to take over at number 10. Census experts say cities in the South grew the fastest, especially in Texas.
