The San Antonio Police Department's newest substation is now open down the street from the St. Mary's Strip. Construction started in January of last year at the corner of St. Mary's and Locust. Officers housed in the 24-thousand-square-foot substation will cover all of downtown. The $22 million facility was paid for as part of the 2017-2022 bond project. It's the SAPD's first new substation since the 1990s.
