A 4-year-old girl is dead and four others are in critical condition after two men shot up their Northeast Side home.
Sheriff Javier Salazar says it appears to have been a "targeted attack."
"There were some words exchanged with somebody that we believe to have been a suspect and there were actually some inquiries being made as to whether there were kids in the house," said Salazar. "At this point I am working on the premise that whoever shot into the house, knew there were kids."
Deputies do say one of the people shot was possibly exchanging text messages with one of the gunmen, prior to the shooting.
So many bullets fired into the home on Windsor Hollow Drive that investigators say it looked like swiss cheese.
Two adults and two children are hospitalized. The two children are said to be 7 and 8 years old.
Two suspect are being sought.
