Cruz: Mayorkas Impeachment Dismissal Is 'Political Expediency'

Senator Ted Cruz says the Senate's dismissal of the impeachment trial of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is an act of "political expediency." Majority Leader Chuck Schumer adjourned the trial on a simple majority vote in the Senate. Cruz and other Republicans say the dismissal sets a dangerous precedent. The House impeached Mayorkas in February for failing to enforce border law. It was the first impeachment of a cabinet secretary in 150 years.
