U.S. Rep. Colin Allred's Senate campaign is reporting more than $9.5 million dollars raised in the first quarter, surpassing Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign. The Federal Election Commission says Cruz's campaign raised nearly $7 million in the first quarter, though the total from his fundraising entities is closer to $10 million. Allred has also raised more money than Beto O'Rourke did by this time when he ran against Cruz in 2018. O'Rourke raised nearly $7 million in the first quarter, more than any other Democratic Senate candidate in the nation. O'Rourke lost anyway.
