Tesla is planning to layoff more than 10% of its global workforce. CEO Elon Musk cited the need for cost reductions and increased productivity in a memo to employees. According to CNBC, Musk called it a "difficult decision" as the company prepares for the next phase of growth. Tesla has about 140,000 employees worldwide, including a number of employees at facilities in the Austin area. No word how many Texas employees will be impacted.
