The San Antonio Spurs' winning streak ends at three with Sunday's 117-113 home loss to the Golden State Warriors. Victor Wembanyama totaled 32 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks in the losing effort. The Spurs slip to 18-and-57 with the loss. They take it on the road against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. Tipoff at Ball Arena is at 8 p.m.

Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich

(On guys receiving more minutes tonight because of the injuries…)

“I thought the group was fantastic. That’s what I just told them. They were great. To have [Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan] out and have the combinations that we had out there with guys who hadn’t played too much, I’m just so proud of them. They’ve come a long way from the beginning of the year to now to be able to play a team like that. We’ve been doing it. For the last month or so, it really started to click with the group. Nobody loves to lose, but their effort and playing for 48 minutes, they’ve figured that out and they just keep on pushing. It was a great night.”

(On the play of Sandro Mamukelashvili…)

“He’s like my favorite player. He moves without the ball, he cuts, he goes after loose balls. The way he plays is just fun to watch. He’s just steady movement, it never stops. It’s fun to watch.”

Spurs Forward Cedi Osman

(On the good ball movement)

“Obviously we missed a lot of guys today; Jeremy, [Keldon Johnson] and Devin [Vassell], but I’m just happy with how everybody was ready and how everybody responded tonight. I think Sandro [Mamukelashvili] had a great game tonight. Then Devonte’ [Graham] came off the bench and gave us a spark. I think that everybody did their best tonight. Even though we’re missing our crucial players, we still gave them a good fight tonight.”

(On comparing this team to the start of the season…)

“I think that we have changed a lot since the beginning of the season. We are a totally different team. I think that you can see that, obviously, when we’re playing on the court, we’re much different. We obviously know now what everybody is capable of. Using [Victor Wembanyama], Devin [Vassell}, Jeremy [Sochan], [Keldon Johnson]. Everybody has their own role and now everybody understands as individuals what we have to do. I think we’re better. I think if the season were to have started today, we would be in a different spot. I really do believe that. But I’m proud of how we fought tonight, and it was a good game for us.”

Spurs Forward Victor Wembanyama

(On handling the Warriors without three starters and how he feels he preformed...)

"For me, it's a lot of being focused on myself first. How I can help the team, how I move my body. I know that guys can't stop me when I'm using all of my weapons. So, it's like this, I always try, no matter what the opponent is doing. I'm always trying to fit in the team effort. When's there's a double team, pass the ball. Do all the little work that doesn't show up in the stat sheets."

(On if he agrees with Pop's statement about the team meshing...)

"Yeah, I feel like it started even before, but it's something continuous. We put an emphasis on this also, recognizing each other's strengths. But yeah, it's true that it's been going even faster since All- Star [Weekend]. There's multiple, but I would say one of the biggest things for us is playing off the ball. When the defense is focused on one area, cut the other side. This is one thing."
