The driver of the concrete truck involved in a deadly school bus accident last Friday has reportedly admitted to using drugs that day. A search warrant affidavit says 42-year-old Jerry Hernandez told investigators he'd slept only three hours before starting his shift and had used cocaine that morning. Hernandez also said he'd smoked pot the night before. The truck hit a Hays CISD bus head-on, causing it to roll over. There were 44 Tom Green preschoolers and 11 adults on the bus. One student was killed, along with the driver of a car behind the bus. Another 51 people were injured. Hernandez is not in custody.
