SAPD To Host Event Aimed At Recruiting More Women As Officers

The San Antonio Police Department is planning an event intended to get women interested in becoming officers. The Women in Policing recruitment event is scheduled for a week from Saturday. Women make up about 14% of the San Antonio police force, which is more than the national average of around 12%. The goal is reportedly to have a 30% female department by 2030. The event will take place at the SAPD Training Academy on SE Loop 410. It's free and open to the public.
