San Antonio City Council is considering the possibility of pay raises for its members. Mayor Ron Nirenberg assembled a commission last fall and asked them to come up with recommendations for raises. Council members make around $46,000 a year, and the mayor about $62,000. On Monday, the commission presented a preliminary recommendation that may boost the pay to six-figures. The commission's final recommendations are expected in June. Any pay changes would have to be put on a November ballot and approved by San Antonio voters.
