Gov. Greg Abbott is backing state House candidates who will support his school choice legislation to the tune of nearly $6 million so far. Abbott has made the political donations to more than 30 pro-school choice candidates and incumbents ahead of next Tuesday's primary elections. The governor spent months on the road advocating for school choice in Texas, only to come up short of the needed votes in last year's legislative session and special sessions. The state Legislature next convenes in 2025.
