The University of Texas is planning to build a thousand-bed undergrad dorm on the Austin campus. The U-T System Board of Regents gave the school the green light to negotiate agreements to build the $145 million student housing complex. It'll be the first newly built undergrad housing development at U-T in nearly 20-years. The target date to open the dorm is fall 2027. It will replace the Whitis Court residence hall, which houses about 200 beds in six buildings.
