A long-delayed Buc-ee's travel center in Boerne is scheduled to start construction later this year. The 53,000-square-foot store is planned for the I-10 feeder at the U.S. 87 Business Route. It's been on the drawing board since 2016, but a planned construction start in 2018 came and went. Next thing you know, the pandemic came to town, and then TxDOT got busy with roadwork projects in the area. A Buc-ee's executive says they're "cautiously optimistic" about breaking ground this summer.
