Thousands of people across the country are being impacted by cell phone outages. AT&T said some of its customers are experiencing interruption and are encouraging the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored. Outages have been reported in many locations. T-Mobile and Verizon customers have also reported issues, but the carriers have said their networks are operating normally and did not experience outages. Some emergency departments have said 911 centers are still operational, but warned residents they may have issues trying to call 911. Some iPhone users are reporting their phones are stuck in SOS mode due to the outage. iPhones enter SOS mode when cellular connection is lost, which allows users to still make SOS texts or calls to emergency services on iPhone 13 models and up.
