Bexar County D-A Joe Gonzales says the county's backlog of felony cases has been reduced by 11%. Gonzales provided county commissioners on Tuesday with an update on the progress made by the High Risk Intake Team. Commissioners provided the team nearly 300-thousand-dollars in funding last November. The move followed a summer in which five San Antonio police officers were shot by suspects with criminal histories. Gonzales says his goal is to eliminate a third of the backlog by May.
