City Council Discusses Outlay Of Opioid Settlement Funds

San Antonio City Council is discussing what to do with the city's share of the money from the opioid settlement. Texas and several other states will divvy up nearly 50-billion-dollars over the next 18 years, to be paid from pharmaceutical companies because of the role they played in the crisis. Texas will receive three-billion-dollars, and six-million of that is coming to San Antonio. So far the city has received a million-dollars. Councilmembers met yesterday to talk about how to spend it on anti-opioid programs.
