Construction on a new elementary school in Uvalde is scheduled to start next week. The Uvalde CISD superintendent made the announcement during Monday's school board meeting. Groundbreaking for the new school took place nearly four-months ago. The school will replace Robb Elementary, which was the site of the deadly 2022 school shooting. The district says it still needs about 20-million-dollars to complete the project. District officials are working with the Uvalde Moving Forward Foundation to help with fundraising.
