The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is forecasting slightly slower job growth in Texas this year. The state is expected add nearly 284-thousand jobs in 2024, a two-percent increase from 2023. By the end of the year, employment in Texas should top 14-million. In 2022, Texas added about 427-thousand jobs for a three-percent growth rate. Texas outpaced most other states last year in job growth, ranking fifth in the nation in the number of jobs added. All 25 of the state's metropolitan areas experienced economic growth.
