Every Texas House Republican voted on Tuesday to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, but the resolution failed. The House impeached Mayorkas for failing to secure the southern border, making him the first Cabinet member impeached in almost 150-years. The impeachment failed on a razor-thin vote of 216 to 214. All House Democrats voted against the impeachment, joined by four Republicans who failed to support the effort. Texas Republicans led the charge in the impeachment for more than a year.
