Fredericksburg PD Arrest Suspect In Deadly Shooting At Convenience Store

A suspect is in custody for fatally shooting a man during a robbery at a convenience store in Fredericksburg on Tuesday night. The deadly robbery happened around 11:45 p.m. at a store on State Highway 16. The suspect reportedly wore a skull mask and shot 48-year-old Arthur Cortez before robbing the store clerk. Acting on a tip, Fredericksburg police arrested 21-year-old Awes Singko Rapet before midnight on Wednesday at a local motel. Rapet is charged with capital murder.
