Alcoholic beverages are now banned at Boerne Lake. The Boerne City Council amended the city code this week by a unanimous vote. The lake joins the city's athletic fields, skate parks, and pools on the list of places in the city limits where alcohol is prohibited. The vote followed a presentation by Parks and Recreation Department Director Lissette Jimenez, who pointed out that the crowds at the lake in recent years are bigger and rowdier. Violation of the new ordinance could result in a fine of up to 200-dollars.
