Uvalde County isn't renewing a contract with a nonprofit that has provided local counseling services since last year's school shooting. County Commissioners took the vote on Wednesday. Federal funds that provided free long-term support and therapy at the Ecumenical Center will expire in April. Uvalde County D-A Christina Mitchell told commissioners she's working with the Justice Department and the governor's office to renew the grant. Democratic state Sen. Roland Gutierrez tried to pin the blame on Gov. Greg Abbott.
