Texas Tech Faces California In Independence Bowl On Saturday

College football bowl season kicks off this weekend. Texas Tech is set to take on California in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday night. The Red Raiders and Golden Bears both enter the matchup at 6-and-6. Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks had a breakout season with 1,443 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Brooks announced Monday that he will be returning to school for a fifth season next fall. The Red Raiders have won two straight bowl games after taking down Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl last year and Mississippi State in the Liberty Bowl in 2021.
