Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are adding a major piece to their 2024 recruiting class. Four-star cornerback Kobe Black announced on Wednesday that he is committing to Texas. Black chose the Longhorns over other top programs LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon and Texas A&M. He is ranked as ESPN's 21st overall prospect in the 2024 class. The Texas native joins defensive end Colin Simmons, wide receiver Ryan Wingo, running back Jerrick Gibson and offensive tackle Brandon Baker as Top 50 recruits to commit to the Longhorns' 2024 class. In other team news, quarterback Maalik Murphy announced that he is entering the transfer portal.
