Officials with the Alamo Trust say the $550 million being invested to redevelop the Alamo historic district will pay off big time. The Alamo Trust is the nonprofit that operates the popular shrine. Executive Director Dr. Kate Rogers says the multi-year project has support from the city, the county, and the state, including $400 million from the Texas legislature this year. Rogers says Bexar County's estimated return on the Alamo project investment is more than $11 billion in tourist trade.
