Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is in concussion protocol after leaving the game in the fourth quarter on Sunday. Stroud had his bell rung in the final minutes of the Texans' 30-6 loss to the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.
Stroud entered the day as the NFL's passing yardage leader but was limited to just 91 yards before leaving the loss to the New York Jets. Davis Mills replaced Stroud and went on to complete 1-of-5 passes for four yards in the losing effort. Wide receiver Nico Collins also left the game with a calf injury on the first drive of the game and did not return.
So far the Texans aren't sure whether Stroud will be ready to play in next Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans. The loss to the Jets dropped the Texans to 7-and-6 for the season.
