The defending World Series champions are adding to their bullpen this offseason. ESPN reports the Texas Rangers and free agent reliever Kirby Yates have reached an agreement on a one-year, $4.5 million deal. Yates went 7-and-2 with five saves and a 3.28 ERA through 61 appearances for the Atlanta Braves last season. The 36-year-old missed the entire 2021 season and pitched only seven innings in 2022 following Tommy John surgery. Yates has also spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels and San Diego Padres.
