A new university in Austin is now accepting its first group of 100 applicants to enroll for the fall 2024 semester. The University of Austin was created two-years ago in response to the reduced dedication to free speech and civil discourse at existing universities. The school's founders announced last week that the state has granted them the authority to award degrees. School leaders say they'll offer the first 100-student class full scholarships for their undergrad years. The scholarships will be funded by private donations the school has raised.
