CPS Energy is asking for another rate increase, less than two-years after the most recent one. The city-owned utility met on Wednesday with the San Antonio City Council to make its case for an increase of more than 4% to its gas and electric rates. CPS says the proposed increase would make the average residential customer's bills go up less than five-dollars. If the City Council and the CPS Board of Trustees both approve of the change by early December, the rate hike would take effect on February 1st.
