Robotaxis operating in four cities, including Austin and Houston, are being recalled after several accidents including some involving pedestrians. Cruise, a subsidiary of General Motors, issued a recall for 950 driverless vehicles. In early October, a pedestrian in San Francisco was hit by a human driver and a Cruise vehicle came to a stop on top of the pedestrian. The autonomous vehicle then attempted to pull away and dragged the pedestrian 20 feet. Late last week the company announced it was halting production of its Cruise Origin vehicles.
