VIA Metropolitan Transit is giving San Antonio voters a free ride to the polls today. A passenger needs to show a voter registration card to the driver to get a free ride to any polling location. The free service is available for bus, VIA Link, and VIAtrans paratransit service throughout the VIA service area today. The Ride VIA to Vote initiative has provided more than two-thousand free trips for voters since its introduction in March 2016. Bexar County voting sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
