The Texas Rangers struck first in the World Series with a walk off win over the Diamondbacks.
Adolis Garcia smacked a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Rangers past the D'backs 6-5 in Game One of the Fall Classic in Arlington. Corey Seager hit a game-tying, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth for the Rangers, who take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Garcia drove in two runs on the night to set a new MLB postseason record with 22 RBI in these playoffs. The homer was his eighth of the postseason. Tommy Pham went deep and Corbin Carroll clubbed a two-run triple for the Snakes. Ketel Marte had a hit and two RBI to extend his hitting streak to 17 games to begin his postseason career, a MLB record.
