House Republicans appear divided on a new speaker. Lawmakers held what was described as an emotional two-hour meeting Monday night over the party's leadership situation after Kevin McCarthy was ousted last week. More meetings are scheduled for this week, while a vote to fill the House speakership could happen as soon as Wednesday. Two candidates have stepped up to fill the role -- Ohio Republican Jim Jordan and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana.
