Governor Abbott says a third state legislature special session will be held on October 9th beginning at 1 p.m. The special session is likely to focus mainly on border security and school choice. Abbott's letter to Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan confirmed the date and time of the session, but did not mention any specific topics. A special session can last up to a maximum of 30 days.
