The Astros failed to record back-to-back wins in Seattle. Houston lost to the Mariners 6-2 at T-Mobile Park. Starting pitcher Cristian Javier was charged with his fifth loss after he allowed four runs, three earned, in less than five innings of work. Jose Altuve and Jeremy Pena both recorded three hits in the losing effort. Houston remains two-and-a-half games back from Texas for the AL West lead at 86-and-72. They are still sitting in the final AL Wild Card spot. Left-hander Framber Valdez will start the series finale against the M's tonight.
