DPS Video Shows Foreign Flag Flying On Island In South Texas

The Texas Department of Public Safety says a group of illegal immigrants tried to claim a sandy island in the Rio Grande River by flying a flag over it. Video posted yesterday on social media shows troopers with the D-P-S Tactical Marine Unit pulling down the flag after it was placed on the island near Eagle Pass. A D-P-S spokesman said the area has been flooded with illegal immigrants and that most of them are from Venezuela. Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas Jr. signed an emergency declaration last week in an effort to get state funding to help deal with the problem.
