Cornyn Calls For Expanded Access To Fentanyl Test Strips

Texas Senator John Cornyn is calling for expanded access to fentanyl test strips. The Republican says the strips, which are considered drug paraphernalia, are a way to cut down on rising overdose deaths. States are hesitant to change that over suggestions that it would encourage drug use. The strips are used to detect whether the deadly opioid is hidden in prescription pills. Overdose deaths from fentanyl in Texas more than doubled last year.
