The Astros put an end to their three-game losing skid. Houston defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-1 on the road at T-Mobile Park. Starting pitcher Justin Verlander earned his 12th win after striking out eight and allowing one run through eight innings. Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker both homered as the Astros improved to 86-and-71. Houston is currently second in the AL West and sitting in the third and final AL Wild Card spot. Right-hander Cristian Javier will start against Seattle tonight.
