The San Antonio Water System says recent months have seen four-times as many citations issued to customers violating Stage 2 watering rules. The city has been under the watering restrictions since April 2022. During Stage 2, watering the lawn with a sprinkler is permitted only from 7 to 11 a.m. and 7 to 11 p.m. on a customer's designated day, according to the last digit of the address. Violators are fined about $137. In July, there were more than two-thousand citations, followed by nearly 1,900 in August.
