Astros Defeat Royals To Avoid Sweep

Yordan Alvarez and Jake Meyers homered to propel the Astros to a 7-1 win over the Royals in Kansas City. On a hot day at the plate for Houston, Jose Altuve and Chas McCormick tied for the team-lead as Houston avoided a three-game sweep at Kauffman Stadium. Framber Valdez earned his 12th win after allowing one unearned run through seven innings. The Astros remain atop the AL West at 84-and-66. They return home to host the Baltimore Orioles tonight.
