Texas is getting help from other states to fight this summer's many wildfires. The Texas A&M Forest Service has mobilized more than 1,400 firefighters from 38 states and territories to help with wildfire response. There were 28 active wildfires in the state as of Tuesday, all but one of which are in East Texas. The Texas Commission on Fire Protection says East Texas has only about 3,100 firefighters, which is fewer than the number in Houston alone.
