An environmental engineering professor at Rice university blames green energy for electricity problems in the state. The operator of the Texas power grid, ERCOT, has issued more than a dozen conservation notices this summer. Professor Daniel Cohan blames years of putting wind and solar ahead of more reliable forms of energy. He says new gas and coal plants take years to bring online, so Texans should expect conservation notices and the threat of outages until that happens.
