Abbott Appeals Judge's Order To Remove Floating Barrier From Rio Grande

Gov. Greg Abbott's office is appealing a federal judge's order that Texas must remove its floating barrier from the Rio Grande by September 15th. The judge ruled on Wednesday that the state needed federal permission to place obstructions in navigable waters. The governor's office appealed the ruling to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, stating a willingness "to take this fight all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court."

Today’s court decision merely prolongs President Biden’s willful refusal to acknowledge that Texas is rightfully stepping up to do the job that he should have been doing all along. This ruling is incorrect and will be overturned on appeal.
