Astros Take Down Rangers In Series Opener

Jose Altuve and Mauricio Dubon both homered twice to propel the Astros to a 13-6 takedown of the Rangers at Globe Life Field. Altuve and Alex Bregman led the team with four hits apiece, while Yainer Diaz totaled a team-high three RBI to help Houston snap a three-game losing skid. Rafael Montero earned his third win by tossing one scoreless frame of relief. The Astros improved to 78-and-61.

Josh Sborz was charged the loss after he let up six runs, five earned, in less than an inning of action. Corey Seager homered twice for the Rangers as they fell to 76-and-61. The two teams will meet again today. Left-hander Framber Valdez will start for Houston, while right-hander Nathan Eovaldi takes the hill for Texas.
