The Texas Longhorns defeated the Rice Owls 37-10 on Saturday in their season opener.
Quinn Ewers completed 19 passes for 260 yards and accounted for four touchdowns (three passing and one rushing), tying his most touchdowns accounted for in a game.
"You know one thing I really like about this team is that we are very versatile. We are not one dimensional where we have to win games one particular way and today was indicative of that," said Head Coach Steve Sarkisian. "The majority of the people who walked into the stadium thought that the game was going to go a certain way, when in reality our defense played a fantastic football game and there's not always a lot of talk about how good we are defensively."
