One of Major League Baseball's best young stars is recovering from midseason surgery. Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung underwent surgery on his fractured left thumb on Wednesday. Jung will remain with the team "in hopes of being back for the end of the 2023 regular season." The surgery performed usually requires a recovery time of at least four weeks. The 25-year-old was injured fielding a line drive in Sunday's win over the Miami Marlins. Jung was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday. He is batting .274 with 22 home runs and 67 RBI this season.
